A PUB has gone cashless for the "foreseeable future" after £1,300 was stolen from a safe during a raid.
The Hop Pole Inn on Cleobury Road in Bewdley was broken into last week.
West Mercia Police confirmed that an investigation is underway and they are reviewing CCTV footage after the raid, which happened on Tuesday, August 27.
In response to the break-in, the pub posted on Facebook thanking customers for their support.
In the statement, they said they were "sad to report we were subject to a break-in last night".
They said: "This means we will be card only for the foreseeable future.
"Thank you all for your brilliant support over the weekend.
"We will continue to operate as normally as possible for the time being.
"Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause".
People reacted to the break-in on social media, with Jayne Rae saying it's "absolutely disgraceful".
Melissa Atkins added: "That's shocking!"
West Mercia Police said: "At around 2.30am on Tuesday 27 August, the Hop Pole Inn was broken into and approximately £1300 stolen from a safe within the property.
"An investigation has been launched and enquiries are ongoing, including reviewing CCTV footage.
"Anyone with any information should contact police".
