MUSIC fans flocked to the town centre over the weekend for the return of the popular Kidderminster Music Festival.

The three-day festival featured more than 50 artists performing across multiple stages in the town centre.

The music line-up featured a host of acts including tributes to Metallica, Amy Winehouse, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

There was also a range of unsigned acts and local bands on the line-up, including La Vivas, Giant & The Georges, The Assist, RetsecroW(s), The Good Water, Chloe Mogg and The Dogs.

On Friday, Saturday and Sunday, the artists performed in venues across the town, including 45 Live, The Post House, Ye Olde Seven Stars, and The Swan. There was also an outdoor stage opposite the Swan Centre.

Street food vendors were also stationed in the town centre, serving up meals to festival goers.

The event was hailed a success by Kidderminster BID manager James Barker who said the event has given the town's economy a boost. He says the free event is set to return next year.

Mr Barker said: "It went down really well. The town just really sparked to life.

"Everyone said it was fantastic. People really wanted it to be here year on year now.

"I've started to bring these events to the town because it's what you see in big cities. It's really starting to show that people in Kidderminster want this.

"Thousands of pounds have been pumped back into the local economy.

"It's a no-brainer to hold it again. It's exactly up our street".

Mr Barker thanked all those who came out to the town centre to support the event on the weekend.
