ONE OF The National Trust's hidden gems will open to the public for free in September.
The Firs, known as the birthplace of the famous composer Sir Edward Elgar, will welcome visitors as part of Heritage Open Days 2024.
Elgar grew to international prominence at the turn of the 20th century, thanks to works such as Cello Concerto and The Dream of Gerontius.
The composer's former home sits in Lower Broadheath, on the outskirts of Worcester, set on a backdrop of the Malvern Hills.
The cottage's garden offers a wide variety of seasonal plants throughout the year, while the Elgar Visitor Centre is dedicated to telling the composer's story through photographs, videos and artefacts.
Visitors can enter for free on Monday (September 9), Friday, September 13, Saturday, September 14, and Sunday, September 15 from 10am to 5pm, with last entry at 4.30pm.
