A community brass band has made the exciting move to a new location in Stourport.
Stourport-on-Severn Brass Band (SoSBB) has officially moved to its new rehearsal venue at The Severn's Club.
A group of band volunteers sorted, organised and packed the music and kit before driving the band's effects over to the new home where they were welcomed by the team at The Severn’s Club.
The Severn's Club, formerly Stourport Workmen's Club, has a history going back to the early 19th century.
SoSBB were helped by Romsley-cased fit-out and refurb specialists Calztec Ltd who kindly provided a van to help move the band's belongings.
Calztec Ltd, an award-winning contractor, undertake commercial and industrial refurbishment projects for property professionals in the public and private sectors.
The company didn’t hesitate to offer their support for the community-based band with their representative, Becky, formerly a SoSBB tenor horn player and life-long friend of the band, was delighted to help.
SoSBB’s musical director Oli Wilson said: "The band has a fantastic suite of concerts coming up this Autumn and as we head into Christmas. Some of which are in great new venues so we’re all looking forward to settling into The Severn’s Club, getting back to rehearsals after a short summer break and learning some exciting new pieces for our future audiences."
Darren Richards, the owner of The Severn’s Club, added: "We are thrilled to welcome Stourport-on-Severn Brass Band to our venue.
"The Club has always been a hub for the local community, and having the band rehearse here is a perfect fit. Music has a special way of bringing people together, and we are sure the band will put on performances at the Club that will be very popular with members and the wider community.
"We look forward to supporting the band as they continue to entertain and enrich the town with their performances."
The band’s next concert is on Saturday, October 12 at 2pm at The Civic, Stourport.
