A car park in Bewdley was closed off by police this morning following concerns for welfare.
West Mercia Police said they were called at around 7.25am today (Monday, September 16) with a concern for the welfare of somebody near the Blackstone Riverside Car Park.
Officers attended the area along with other emergency services and the person was located and taken to safety.
Ambulance crews from West Midlands Ambulance Service and a search and rescue team were also spotted at the scene.
West Midlands Ambulance Service said the woman was in a "serious condition" and was taken to hospital for further treatment.
A spokesperson for West Mercia Police said: "We received a call around 7.25am this morning (September 16) with the concern of the welfare of somebody near to the Blackstone Riverside Park in Bewdley.
"Officers attended the area and along with other emergency services, the person was located and taken to safety."
A spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "We were called at 7.38am to an incident in the water nearby to the A456, Bewdley. One ambulance, two paramedic officers and the Hazardous Area Response Team (HART) attended the scene.
"Upon arrival, we found a woman in a serious condition which was not life-threatening. She received treatment at the scene before being conveyed to Russells Hall Hospital for further assessment."
