PUPILS and staff at a primary school are "buzzing with excitement" as new state-of-the-art permanent classrooms have been unveiled.

Six new classrooms, three group rooms, and two floors of learning spaces have been opened at Comberton Primary School in Kidderminster.

Year 4, 5, and 6 pupils are benefitting from the new learning facilities, which have been integrated with the main school.

Children have shared their verdicts on the new extension to the school.

Year 5 pupil Dylan Goodwin, said: "It's so nice to have new classrooms and be part of the main school. We love being upstairs as we have so much room and it feels more grown up."

Year 6 pupil Oaklyn-May Yates said: "We love it. It feels so much bigger and smells so new. The views from the top floor are great - it's like we are learning from the treetops."

Worcestershire County Council provided just under £2.1 million of capital grant funding to cover the cost of the project, with building work being carried out by building contractor Leon's Building Services.

Councillor David Chambers, cabinet Member for Education at Worcestershire County Council, said: “Seeing the new facility up and running is truly wonderful and the positive impact it’s already having on their students is clear".

Headteacher Deena Frost added: “We are thrilled to welcome our students into these fantastic new spaces.

"The new classrooms are more than just buildings - they represent a significant step forward in providing our children with the best possible learning environment.

"We’re also looking forward to showing off these new spaces to prospective families at our Open Day on 3 October. It’s a great opportunity for parents to see the improvements first-hand and consider what we have to offer for children starting school in September 2025.”
