A number of new trees have been planted at a park in Kidderminster as part of efforts to increase biodiversity.
On Friday (September 20), Kidderminster Town Council, Mayor George Connolly and the Friends of Broadwaters Mill planted a number of young trees in Broadwaters Park.
The mixtures of Golden Indian Bean, Golden Elm, Weeping Willow and Dog Wood have been planted in small avenues within the park.
By planting the trees, Kidderminster Town Council also aims to increase biodiversity in the three parks they currently manage including Broadwaters Park, St George's Park and Baxter Gardens.
This is in partnership with their 'Friends of' the parks and Natural Networks.
Mayor George Connolly said: "I have been looking forward to seeing these trees planted in the park and I was impressed with the enthusiasm and energy from both Town Council officers and Friends of the park, and I hope visitors to the park can enjoy these trees in the years to come."
Sobia Shaw, Chair of the Friends of Broadwaters Mill Park, said: "We are delighted to be planting more trees in our lovely park.
"We are all volunteers and work very hard in partnership with Kidderminster Town Council's Public Realm and Operations team to keep the park a colourful and pleasant environment, rich in heritage, wildlife and biodiversity for all who visit."
