Some of the best pubs in Bewdley and Stourport have been recognised in the Good Beer Guide 2025. 

The guide, which is published annually by the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA), is the UK's best-selling beer and pub guide and an essential resource for ensuring the future of pubs across the UK.

The publication lists 4,500 of the best pubs across the UK and is the definitive beer drinker’s guide for those seeking the best pints in the nation and is on sale now.

A total of 14 pubs across Wyre Forest have been featured in the guide including seven across Bewdley and Stourport. 

Here are some of the top pubs in Bewdley and Stourport for 2025: 

Bewdley

Bewdley Brewery Tap

The pub produces a variety of six regular cask ales, seasonal beers and bottled beers including supplying some for the Severn Valley Railway. 

The Good Beer Guide describes the pub as "lively and friendly" with it taking home the Wyre Forest CAMRA gold Pub of the Year 2024 award. 

Black Boy

Located at the top of Bewdley town centre, the pub is housed inside an historic building dating back to the mid-15th century. 

The guide praises the beers and real cider on offer as well as regular attractions and activities including bar skittles, board games and quiz nights.  

Great Western

The pub is just a short walk from the Severn Valley Railway station making it the ideal spot for visitors especially with its railway theme interior. 

Five real ales are on offer including the house beer, 2857 from Bewdley, which is named after one of the railway locomotives. 

Old Waggon and Horses

The guide describes the pub as "popular and friendly" with changing ales from regional and national breweries. 

The pub has a roll-down screen for sporting events as well as offering a carvery on Sunday and an attractive terraced flower garden.  

Real Ale Tavern

The "traditionally-styled" pub is home to a cosy lounge with an open fire area that is popular with visitors as temperatures start to drop. 

The guide praises the "impressive" array of 12 hand pulls offering beers from Black Country Ales as well as national breweries. 

Stourport 

The Black Star

Winners of the Wyre Forest CAMRA gold Pub of the Year 2020, The Black Star pub has also taken home the bronze award in 2023 and 2024.

Located near the canal and boasting an attractive beer garden, the pub offers a changing variety of beers from Wye Valley and regional breweries. 

The Hollybush

Dating back to the 17th century, the pub won Wyre Forest CAMRA silver Pub of the Year 2024 and offers a patio area and function room. 

There is a large fire place as well a separate restaurant area making it a top pick for both locals and visitors.
