SEVERAL upcoming road closures are planned in the Wyre Forest area over the next month. 

Here are the latest temporary road closure updates, with alternative routes, listed in the Shuttle by Worcestershire County Council: 

Prospect Hill, Kidderminster

Order made: To close that part of U12147 Prospect Hill from its junction with U12156 Worcester Street for a distance of 85 meters in a northerly direction and to temporarily suspend The Borough of Kidderminster (Various Roads) One-way Traffic, Waiting Restrictions and Weight Restriction) Order, 1971 to allow two-way traffic to be able to access to residents and businesses for the duration of the Order.

Reason: Safe access to underground BT structures by Openreach. Exemptions: To permit access to any land or premises fronting
the highway affected where there is no other form of access; and to allow the works to be undertaken.

Alternative route: U12147 Bromsgrove Road, U12160 Coventry Street, A456 Coventry Street Roundabout, A451 The Ringway, U12148 Green Street, U12150 Dixon Street, U12147 New Road, U12147 Marlborough Street and vice versa.

Anticipated duration: 1 night (21:00-06:00). Commencing: 7 October 2024.

 

Coventry Street, Kidderminster

Proposed Order: To close that part of A456 Coventry Street from its junction with C2190 Radford Avenue in a Westerly direction only to its junction with A456 Coventry Street Roundabout/The Ringway.

Reason: Remedial water works by Severn Trent Water.

Exemptions: To permit access to any land or premises fronting the highway affected where there is no other form of access; and to allow the works to be undertaken.

Alternative route: A456 Coventry Street (part), A456 Birmingham Road, A449 Chester Road North, A448 Comberton Road, A448 Comberton Hill, A451 The Ringway and vice versa.

Anticipated duration: 2 days (24hrs). Commencing: 26 October 2024.

 

Princess Way, Stourport on Severn

Order made: To close that part of U11129 Princess Way from its junction with U11133 Yarranton Close to its junction with U11132 Vawdrey Close.

Reason: Lay New Ducting by OCU Group.

Exemptions: To permit access to any land or premises fronting the highway affected where there is no other form of access; and to allow the works to be undertaken.

Alternative route: U11129 Princess Way (part), U11100 Redstone Lane, U11125 Linden Avenue, U11129 Princess Way (part) and vice versa.

Anticipated duration: 5 days (24hrs). Commencing: 7 October 2024.


Ribbesford Drive, Stourport on Severn

Order made: To close that part of U11541 Ribbesford Drive from its junction with U11500 Lower Lickhill Road to its junction with U11531 Stagborough Way.

Reason: Lay New Ducting by OCU Group.

Exemptions: To permit access to any land or premises fronting the highway affected where there is no other form of access; and to allow the works to be undertaken.

Alternative route: U11500 Lower Lickhill Road, U11531 Stagborough Way, and vice versa.

Maximum duration: 18 Months. Anticipated duration: 5 days (24 hrs). Commencing: 7 October 2024.


Coniston Way, Bewdley

Order made: To close that part of U10210 Coniston Way from its junction with U10203 Derwent Drive to its junction with U10209 Bramley Way.

Reason: New ducting installation by OCU Group.

Exemptions: To permit access to any land or premises fronting the highway affected where there is no other form of access; and to allow the works to be undertaken.

Alternative route: U10209 Bramley Way, U10207 Laxton Drive, U10203 Derwent Drive and vice versa.

Maximum duration: 18 Months. Anticipated duration: 5 days (24 hrs). Commencing: 7 October 2024.


Cakebole Lane, Chaddesley Corbett

Order made: To close that part of C2082 Cakebole Lane from its junction with C2082 Cakebole to its junction with U13611 Church Lane.

Reason: Reinforce of the bank to the edge of the carriageway by WCC.

Exemptions: To permit access to any land or premises fronting the highway affected where there is no other form of access; and to allow the works to be undertaken.

Alternative route: C2082 Cakebole Lane (part), C2082 Lunnon  Lane, C2018 Clattercut Lane, A442 Rushock to Cutnall Green, A442 Doitwich Road, C2014 Curslow Lane, C2082 Cakebole and vice versa.

Maximum duration: 18 Months. Anticipated duration: 5 days. Commencing: 7 October 2024.


Wilden Lane, Stourport on Severn

Proposed Order: To close that part of C2172 Wilden Lane from its junction with U11319 Bigbury Lane to its junction with U12805 Hopton Drive.

Reason: Electricity cable replacement by National Grid.

Exemptions: To permit access to any land or premises fronting the highway affected where there is no other form of access; and to allow the works to be undertaken.

Alternative route: C2172 Wilden Lane (part), B4193 Hartlebury Road, B4193 Rectory Lane, A449 Worcester Road, C2172 Wilden Lane (part) and vice versa.

Anticipated duration: 17 days (24 hrs). Commencing: 28 October 2024.

 

Bishops Wood Lane, Hartlebury

Proposed Order: To close that part of C2142 Bishops Wood Lane from its junction with A4025 Stourport Road for a distance of 125 metres in a south westerly direction.

Reason: New customer connection by National Grid Electrical Distribution.

Exemptions: To permit access to any land or premises fronting the highway affected where there is no other form of access; and to allow the works to be undertaken.

Alternative route: Diversion Southbound: C2142 Bishops Wood Lane (part), C2142 Bishops Wood Road, C2141 Owlhill Lane, A449 Sytchampton to Mitre Oak, A4025 Stourport Road and vice versa. Diversion Northbound: C2142 Bishops Wood Lane (part), U40015 Lincomb Bank, C2141 Lincomb Lane, A4025 Stourport Road and vice versa.

Anticipated duration: 4 days (24 hrs). Commencing: 28 October 2024.

 

Reservoir Road, Kidderminster

Proposed Order: To close that part of U12045 Reservoir Road from its junction with B4549 Sutton Park Road for a distance of 45 meters in a southerly direction.

Reason: Utility works by Severn Trent Water.

Exemptions: To permit access to any land or premises fronting the highway affected where there is no other form of access; and to allow the works to be undertaken.

Alternative route: B4549 Sutton Park Road, A451 Stourport Road, U12045 Reservoir Road (part) and vice versa.

Anticipated duration: 3 days (24hrs). Commencing: 28 October 2024.


Worcester Street/Malborough Street (northbound only), Kidderminster

Order made: To close that part of Closure 1 – U2156 Worcester Road from its junction with U12147 Malborough Street to its junction with U12160 Blackwell Street. Close 2 – U12147 Malborough Street (northbound only) from its junction with U12155 Oxford Street to its junction with U12156 Worcester Road and to temporarily suspend The Borough of Kidderminster (Various Roads) (Consolidation of One-Way Traffic, Waiting and other miscellaneous Restrictions) Order 1974 to allow two-way traffic to access residents and businesses for the duration of the Order.

Reason: Remedial works by KJTM Cads.

Exemptions: To permit access to any land or premises fronting the highway affected where there is no other form of access; and to allow the works to be undertaken.

Alternative route: U12155 Oxford Street, A451 The Ringway, U12160 Blackwell Street.

Anticipated duration: 2 days. Commencing: 7 October 2024.

 

Cobden Street, Kidderminster

Order made: To close that part of U12137 Cobden Street from its junction with U12135 Woodfield Crescent for a distance of 85 metres in a north westerly direction.

Reason: New vehicle crossing (dropped kerb) by WCC.

Exemptions: To permit access to any land or premises fronting the highway affected where there is no other form of access; and to allow the works to be undertaken.

Alternative route: U12135 Woodfield Crescent, U12136 Crescent Road, A456 Bewdley Road, U12137 Cobden Street (part) and vice versa.

Anticipated duration: 1 day between 8 October 2024 and 10 October 2024.

 

Dunley Road, Bewdley

Proposed Order: To close that part of C2021 Dunley Road from its junction with C2071 Nertherton Lane to its junction with U10011 Wylde Lane.

Reason: Safe working for overhead Fibre cabling works by Openreach.

Exemptions: To permit access to any land or premises fronting the highway affected where there is no other form of access; and to allow the works to be undertaken.

Alternative route: C2021 Dunley, A451 Dunley, B4194 Ribbesford Road, B4194 Red Hill, B4194 High Street, B4190 Winbrook, B4190 Cleobury Road, A456 Long Bank, A456 Callow Hill, C2021 Bliss Gate Road, C2021 Heightington Road, C2021 Dunley Road (part) and vice versa.
