A FAMILY-run restaurant is thrilled to be named one of the best Indian Restaurants in Worcestershire.

Vasaanti, an Indian restaurant in Droitwich, has won yet another award after it came out on top during the Tommy Miah's International Indian Chef & Hospitality Awards in Edinburgh.

The restaurant on High Street has been offering quirky East-West Indian fusion-styled food since it opened four years ago and is over the moon to receive the award.

Manager Akbar Miah said: "We are thrilled to announce that we’ve just been awarded Best Restaurant in Worcestershire at the TMiiCA Awards.

"This is a huge honour and I couldn’t be prouder of the entire Vasaanti team.

"Thank you to all our wonderful customers for your continued support - it means the world to us.

"Here’s to many more amazing moments together."

Staff also celebrate their chef, Ahmed Enam, who came third in the TMiiCA Awards cooking playoffs.

"In our eyes, you are the champion."

This is not the first award the business has won and in 2023 loyal customers nominated the eatery for the Restaurant Guru Award.

Restaurant Guru is one of the world's most popular food websites with over 30 million monthly users and the awards are based on customer reviews.

The award is in light of a burglary that happened at the restaurant earlier this year where Mr Miah revealed that "Droitwich doesn't feel safe anymore".

A charity box and a large quantity of money were taken and extensive damage was caused to the roof and areas of the restaurant were "trashed".

The restaurant has since bounced back from the incident.

The family also runs India Spice in Bromsgrove.
