A Yellow weather warning has been issued for some areas across the West Midlands for this evening, the Met Office has announced.
Heavy rain with possibly thundery showers are forecast for the evening of Tuesday, October 8 with flood warnings in force across England.
Despite the weather warning, the region is expected to miss the worst of the bad weather, with a previous flood alert for the River Stour and Smestow Brook in the Black Country and South Staffordshire flood alert area being removed this morning.
About 20 to 30mm of rain is predicted to fall within two to three hours in some parts of the country, while a few places, especially across the South East, could see between 40 to 50mm.
People in the West Midlands are still being told to remain aware of the severe wet weather, with a chance of hail and lightning also expected.

Conditions are expected to ease overnight, with the yellow warning currently expected to stay in place until 3am on Wednesday, October 9.
