A BRAND new street food joint is serving up smash burgers and loaded fries in Kidderminster town centre.
Calàbbria Street Food is now open two nights a week at The Bakers Cafe on Coventry Street.
Business owner and chef Callum Maisey decided to turn his passion for cooking into a career during the Covid-19 pandemic.
The 41-year-old from Kidderminster said: "I never really had a career path since I left school. I joined the army, that didn't work out.
"I just went from job to job really. I never unlocked the passion for food until lockdown and that's when it exploded really".
He said he started off cooking curries during the pandemic and shared photos of his creations on social media.
He also cooked pizzas in his garden, delivering them to friends and family during the lockdown.
From there, Mr Maisey was inspired to start his own food business, serving up food at events and weddings. He's also served his food during Bruce Springsteen and Pink gigs at Villa Park.
"We started the company up itself just doing little events at pubs and we just progressed", he added.
"I wanted to venture into the street food side of it. I wanted to test my skills.
"I'm finally getting where I want to be".
He said the opening weekend at the new site in Kidderminster was a success.
There's a range of smash burgers on the menu including the 'bacon boy,' the 'steak supreme' and the 'Kiddy kid-do.'
He will also be serving up southern fried chicken loaded fries, peri-peri fries and masala fries.
The restaurant is open between 5pm and 10pm on Fridays and Saturdays for sit-in meals and for takeaway.
