A former timber yard in Kidderminster has been demolished following a major fire which left the building gutted.

The fire started in the derelict building on Park Lane last month with eyewitnesses describing the "huge flames" that were visible in the distance from Weavers Wharf.

Scores of firefighters from Kidderminster, Bromsgrove, Droitwich, Stourbridge and Haden Cross fought the flames using an aerial platform and pumping water from the nearby canal.

Bystanders were left shocked as the flames ripped through the building and left the site completely destroyed.

Residents were advised to keep doors and windows closed with motorists and the public being advised to avoid the area.

Photos shared at the end of last month revealed the extent of the damage from the fire after the early stages of the demolition work got underway.
