Huge crowds partied in Stourport last weekend as the owners of a popular pub marked ten years at the helm.

Residents and regulars came out to show their support for The Black Star as Maria and Andy Gooding celebrated 10 years in charge with an "absolutely crazy" birthday bash.

People travelled from far and wide to hear ten live music acts from Friday (October 18) to Sunday (October 20), including special guests the Blues Brothers and Jack Sparrow.

"So much hard work has gone on behind the scenes, so to see everyone having fun was just amazing.

"It was so lovely to get the whole community together including new faces and our regulars. Our parents also came down to celebrate with us and we've had really great feedback including how friendly the pub is, which really means a lot to the team."

After leaving their fate to the flip of a coin, the couple decided to move to Stourport which proved to be "the best decision they ever made".

Ten years later, the pub on Mitton Street has undergone a complete transformation and does a lot of work in the community including sponsoring local sports teams and raising money for charity.

Ms Gooding added: "It really shows the amount of love the community have for the pub. The last ten years have been a whirlwind and we just want to say a huge thank you to everyone who came out to show their support."
