Kidderminster's Copper Beech Brewery moves to Worcester

Family-owned business Copper Beech Brewery, which started from a garden shed in 2019, has been experiencing steady growth over the years.

Owners Sam and Dan Lawson have partnered with Sam Teckman and Patch Williams, the owners of The Oil Basin in Worcester, to "move the business forward".

Sam Lawson said: "We have scaled up our brewing equipment and are now a 1400L Brewhouse - we’ve come a long way since our 100L set-up in the garden shed.

"We have just this week signed a lease on the recently closed Sociable Beer Company site and are aiming to open the Copper Beech Brewery and Taproom in late November".

In 2022 the business moved from a garden shed into a unit at the business hub Unity Park in Kidderminster.

Sam added: "Dan and I are very excited to be moving the business to the next stage alongside Sam and Patch, who are equally passionate about the future of the business.

"We can’t wait to welcome people to the new site and hope that we can be a complimentary addition to the well-established hospitality scene in Worcester".

The brewery has benefitted from a support programme by Worcestershire County Council which offered specialist consultancy as well as a grant.

Dan Lawson said: "The programme came at the perfect time, we were at a crossroads and had two investment routes we could go down.

"We needed to take our business from a family-owned business to one with the ability to grow without limits.

"Through the support on offer I was able to talk to other businesses facing the same issues and the conversations that took place helped me make the decision to move the business to Worcester to enable us to expand.

"As a result, we are now in the position to grow our business by 9 times the capacity".
