WYRE Forest District Council has announced free parking after 3pm at its car parks this festive period,

From Monday, December 2, until Tuesday, December 24, visitors to all council-owned car parks in Kidderminster, Stourport and Bewdley will be able to park for free between 3pm until 6pm on Mondays to Fridays.

The offer can be used in long-stay and short-stay car parks, but the short-stay car parks have a maximum two-hour stay.

Drivers will not need to pay for parking during this time.

The festive parking offer is in addition to the free hour parking scheme the council is running in Batemans Yard Kidderminster, Gardners Meadow Bewdley, and Vale Road Stourport.

The festive parking offer applies to car parks owned by Wyre Forest District Council only. It is not available at Weaver’s Wharf car park in Kidderminster, which is privately owned.

Councillor Ben Brookes, Wyre Forest District Council’s cabinet member for operational services said: “We’re encouraging residents to shop local this Christmas, support our towns and take advantage of our free parking during the festive season.

"If you use the schemes together you can get four hours of free parking on weekdays in long stay car parks and make a great start on your Christmas shopping while supporting local businesses.

"We hope that being able to park for free will save a bit of money – which all helps during the current pressure on household costs.”
