One-way traffic restrictions over Bewdley Bridge are set to be lifted at Christmas for more than two weeks.
Worcestershire County Council has confirmed that the plan is to have the bridge open to two-way traffic from 1pm on Friday, December 20.
The team intends to return traffic to the one-way system at midnight on Sunday, January 5, 2025.
After the flooding in 2020, funding was made available by the government for impacted communities, enabling the Environment Agency to consider a flood risk management scheme for the Beales Corner area of Bewdley and keep the main roads into the town open at times of flood.
A traffic management system is in place on the road whilst the work is carried out to install new flood defences at Beales Corner.
The traffic restrictions are set to be lifted as work on the flood defences will pause for the Christmas break before re-starting in the new year.
