I COMPLETELY agree with James Thomas and his comments about the poor behaviour of some people within Kidderminster town, the flagrant disregard for the rules relating to alcohol consumption and the continued blind eye that police and Wyre Forest enforcement officers turn in relation to the issues (Shuttle letters October 31).
They drink, they swear, they litter and have no respect for other people or their surroundings.
It’s just a continual worsening of standards and attitudes in general by a relatively small, but growing, section of society which unfortunately has a very negative impact on every decent and well-meaning person either living in or visiting the area.
It’s time the police and Wyre Forest District Council took action.
Unfortunately, they appear to be more focused on issuing parking tickets rather than dealing with the issues of antisocial behaviour and law breaking that is far more important to stamp out.

THE heart and soul was ripped out of Kidderminster years ago.
Clueless bad town planning and a repeated continued waste of financial investment either at the tax payers’ expense and or from grants received.
These continued errors of judgement have, and continue to be, replicated.
Short-term gains over long-term objectives are self-evident.
Around in circles we go.
Whoever is ultimately responsible for holding the purse strings obviously lacks the foresight, imagination and continuity required to enhance a town that is worth visiting.
I am from Kidderminster.
I knew the town as a young lad.
I return regularly.
I have mind’s eye snapshots of its decay and demise over a prolonged period of time.
Many others will have too and I suspect they feel the same.
Some would have it called progress.
And they would be the ones that just spent the money and merely ran away with it.
Kidderminster is dying on its feet. It is no more.
It was yesterday’s dream.
Now left in its reality.
Long live Kidderminster.
