Wolverley Memorial Hall is set to undergo work to improve disabled access.
The improvement scheme, which also includes providing designated disabled parking, has been made possible by a £35,500 grant from the Enovert Community Trust through the Landfill Communities Fund.
Nearby residents Mike and Lynn Webster have also contributed £1,500 to help the Wolverley Memorial Charity carry out the work.
Graham Wallis, the chair of the Wolverley Memorial Charitable Trust, said: "The grant and donation have made it possible for this important work to be carried out.
"At the moment, the only way into the hall or café is by some very steep steps or across very rough ground, making access almost impossible for wheelchair users and people with mobility issues.
"When the work is complete, we will have two designated disabled parking spaces close to the hall’s disabled access doors and the entrance to the community café.
"Not only will this be much safer for everyone, it will make the approach to the hall much more attractive and welcoming.
“Huge thanks to the Enovert Community Trust and the Websters for helping the charity to finance this essential work.”
The work is expected to commence in mid-November and will take around three weeks to complete.
