A CHEF who welcomed legend Marco Pierre White to his restaurant says the TV star is looking to return for another meal.
Dominique Saley, who runs The Bellman's Cross Inn and Dominique's Restaurant in Shatterford with his son Matt, was delighted the chef decided to stop by for lunch earlier this month.
Marco was even joined by rock legend and local resident Robert Plant, who caught up with the chef over a drink and shared memories together.
Mr Saley said there's been a great response to the meeting after a photo of the two stars was shared by the restaurant, which has led to new customers visiting since.
Mr Saley, who was born in France, opened the restaurant in 1997 after moving to England. He said he's worked at restaurants in France and Belgium under chefs who Marco is familiar with.
Mr Saley, aged 55, said: “When I came to England 20 years ago I followed him.
“He was very very friendly. We did connect very well. It was great. He knew people I worked for in Belgium and France".
Marco and his team visited the pub to meet with Chris Sadler, who runs Bewdley distillery Wildjac.
Marco, who became the youngest chef to be awarded three Michelin stars in the 90s, enjoyed a smoked salmon, capers and lemon starter, and a whole Dover sole on the bone with meunière sauce main course.
He also enjoyed a pint of Bathams Best Bitter, brewed in Brierley Hill in the Black Country, which he remarked was an "excellent pint.”
Mr Saley added that Marco has indicated that he wants to visit the restaurant again with family.
He added: “Hopefully we’ll see him again".
