"THOUSANDS upon thousands" of people flocked to Kidderminster for the town's annual Christmas Lights Switch-On event.
The popular event returned to the town centre on Saturday (November 16), featuring live bands, street food, entertainment and a firework display.
The event kickstarted the festive season, with the lights being switched on at around 7pm on the night. The annual festive celebrations are organised by Kidderminster Town Council and Kidderminster BID.
James Barker, the leader of Kidderminster BID, hailed the day as success and said thousands supported the town by turning up on the day.
Mr Barker said: "The people of Kidderminster deserve this event.
"It was a larger event than last year. The entire high street was chock-a-block.
"It was amazing to see all of the streets moving and teeming with life".
This year's edition of the town centre Christmas event featured fireworks, which Barker said "went down well" on the night.
"I think it was a really special moment for a lot of people that turned up," Mr Barker said.
"It was a really great occasion.
A huge thank you to everyone who made it happen, from the performers and vendors to the event team and, of course, all of you who joined us.
"You made it a night to remember".
Residents took to social media to praise Kidderminster's Christmas Lights Switch-On.
Paul Adkins said: "I thought the evening was just wonderful".
Susie Griffiths said: "Wonderful. Well done team BID, bringing community together."
Becca Louise described it as an "amazing evening from start to finish".
Praising the fireworks, Jo Knight said: "A brilliant display and what a turn out to the whole event, a pleasure to help."
