A number of road closures are set to be in place this weekend as the Christmas light switch-on and market kick-off festivities in Bewdley.

The day promises to be packed with exciting activities and entertainment for all ages with street entertainers, artisan food and drink, funfair rides, a Santa's Grotto and more.

The event will take place on Saturday (November 30) from 1pm until 6pm with the countdown to the light switch-on at 5.30pm.

In preparation for the event, Bewdley Town Council has informed residents about a number of road closures that will be in place throughout the day.

This includes Severn Bridge, Westbourne Street, Stourport Road, Severn Side North and part of Load Street where parking will be unavailable.

Residents are being advised to use the free park and ride which will take you straight into the town centre with free parking at The Running Horse and The Bewdley School.

Alternatively, guests can also leave the car in Kidderminster and hop aboard a special heritage train along the Severn Valley Railway to Bewdley Station.
