FIREFIGHTERS were called to a lorry containing hundreds of gas cylinders in Kidderminster.
Smoke was seen coming from the HGV when it was on Chester Road North at the junction with Linden Avenue at around 10.20am today (Tuesday November 26).
Fire crews from Wyre Forest and Bromsgrove went to the scene and it turned out that the lorry's brakes had overheated.
Firefighters cooled the brakes down by using water with the road blocked while they dealt with the incident.
A spokesman for Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service said: "We were called to a HGV carrying 195 gas flow cylinders.
"The rear brake lining had overheated. Firefighters cooled it down using two hose jet reels."
Crews left the scene at 11.40pm.
