Construction work is officially underway at a brand-new housing development in Stourport.
MP Mark Garnier OBE cut the sod to mark the start of construction work on the 211-home development on Pearl Lane.
The Wyre Forest MP joined Adrian Evans, the managing director at Barratt Homes West Midlands, for the ceremony.
The development of two, three and four-bedroom properties, named The Pearls, will help create around 422 jobs for local people during its construction and will bring significant investment to the area.
The Pearls development is less than two miles away from Stourport itself and will offer the brand-new community a wide range of essential and entertainment amenities as well as convenient travel to Kidderminster and Worcester.
MP Mark Garnier said: "It was a pleasure to visit this new housing development in Stourport, set in such a scenic part of Wyre Forest.
"I am particularly pleased that the next generation of families in The Pearls will benefit from a mix of two, three and four-bedroom high-quality and energy-efficient homes.
"I look forward to seeing the end result and families making the most of the Playland Fun Park, Treasure Island and of course the canal-side walking routes."
Set to launch in late spring 2025, The Pearls gives prospective home buyers the opportunity to reap the benefits of Stourport’s beautiful canal landscapes and highly-rated schooling options.
Adrian Evans added: "We were thrilled to be joined by Mark to celebrate the start of construction at our Stourport development, The Pearls.
"This is an exciting development, and we are looking forward to seeing it take shape ahead of its launch."
