NICK THE BLOG - BLOG 3
Welcome humans! This time I'm going to talk to you about music from the town of Kidderminster, but not about the music of the past, I'm talking about the music of the present. I've been investigating and discovered a new generation of remarkable people. Ladies & gentleman - Your future heroes.
Teenage music - the truth
We all make choices. Some people don't know what they want or have any idea what to do in life. There are some people that, from an early age, have this natural drive and ability to create, perform and adapt. We call a lot of these people artists, musicians, photographers and actors etc. We are generaly taught to believe that if we are good at anything at school then that's really what we should be doing for the rest of our lives. I was noticed for being good at art from about the age of 4, but I've become known for music despite me not picking up a guitar until I was about 15 years old. I had never tried to play one before, so why did I decide to make a career out of music? Well music and art go hand in hand. It just does. Once you've spent the early years of your life drawing the world, eventually you need a sound to go with it...
Kidderminster is buzzing now with musical activity. I'm going to tell you about a few young bands I've seen, met, or discovered. Now whether or not you like these bands or not, you have to understand that these people have all made a commitment to music. Obviously these bands are not as big as Metalica or ACDC, but right now they are starting the first steps of their careers. These are the heroes of tommorow, in time they will adapt to change, they will become stronger musicians and they will paint our new sounds with their instruments.

Malevolent Aspect are a 4 piece metal band, from Kidderminster. They played their 1st ever gig at Kidderminster TownHall at the Kidderminster RockFest 2007 and were brave enough to be recorded LIVE and broadcast on BBC radio. Now that takes some balls!

Now I've not seen these guys as a band but I've heard a lot of good positive things, I saw two of the members at an open-mic night and they played together real well, so i'm looking forward to seeing how they work as a band, watch out for this one.

Right that's a few things to watch out for, if you are old and have grey skin then we probably won't see you there, lol. Remember that when teenagers are making music they aren't commiting crimes like others their age. So before you criticise, remember that they are doing something positive....and something for their community. So if you have a heart and a pulse I expect you to support the youth of today and check out all these hard working musicians.
