It has been proved time and time again that children and sharp objects don´t mix, in particular.. knives. On March 3rd in a school playground in Coalville, a seven year old girl pulled out a steak knife in the midst of an argument over a boy. A SEVEN year old girl takes a sodding STEAK KNIFE to school!!
What in Christ´s name are the parents playing at? When I was that age I wouldn´t have even dreamt of taking a knife to school, let alone a steak knife. Mind you when I was at school we didn´t take the subject of love and romance THAT seriously if at all. The girls had their ´My Little Pony´ and us boys had our ´Transformers´.

Parents of the other children at this particular school are outraged that the girl is not even to be suspended. I find it sad that there´s talk of suspending a child in a Primary School.

She wielded the knife at three other children warning them to stay away from the boy in question. It´s a scene that feels a little like Fatal Attraction in miniature.

If that wasn´t enough, the following day a ten year old boy was suspended from a school Greenock, Scotland for possessing a knife in the playground. Not wishing to sound sensationalist but these incidents seem to be happening more frequently these days and most disturbing. We could blame TV, we could blame video games but really in my view the buck has to stop with the parents.

I´d like to know what the hell these people are teaching their children because if a seven year old is carrying weapons to school then there is something seriously wrong with the family unit. You get used to this type of incident occuring in the USA, but it´s still a shock when it happens here. Where is it going to stop? People talk of disciplining the children but it´s the parents in my view who should be on the receiving end.
