Hello Readers,
Well, it has been an interesting couple of months in the blogging world to say the least! The more avid readers out there will have noticed that my last two blogs have received quite alot of negative feedback due to the subjects I have chosen to write about. I have been refered to as "Ignorant" and "Hypocritical", I have been told that I "Feel threatened by people who have a genuinely alternative life style rather than just wearing the clothes", and someone even said: "Death to the citizen journalist, if this is the best we get". Oh, dear! :-S
Fair enough, you can't please everyone, and I seem to have succeeded in irritating quite a few of you out there!
However, there are a couple of things that I personally think need to be brought up, firstly, the above quote: "Death to the citizen journalist, if this is the best we get"... Journalist?, I may be alot of things but a journalist isn't one of them! lol. See, that's where people get confused with the whole "Blog" craze that has sweapt the world by storm since social networking sites became popular, blogging isn't in any way journalism in my opinion.
A blog is nothing more than the writers opinion, kind of like an online diary, if you will... So, even if the blog isn't very well researched or even well written, it is still only the bloggers OPINION! A take on the world through their eyes...
I am a very opinionated person, that is how I manage to ruffle so many feathers! I speak as I find, and yes, sometimes I do jump into things head first without thinking them through, however, I will not allow myself to be accused of "Forcing my opinions upon people", I don't force people to read anything that I write, they do that of their own free will, I am not forcing anything upon anyone...
Another thing that I have noticed during my time as a "blogger", is that when you write something nice no-one seems to care! What I mean is, out of all the blogs that I have written it is the last two that have gotten the most feedback, albeit negative feedback, but feedback none-the-less. At one point I wrote what I considered to be a really inspirational blog entitled "It's amazing how words can alter your mood and thoughts..." I wrote it in the hope that anyone who read it would feel as uplifted and inspired as I did. How many people responded to this particular blog?... 0.
That's something that I find quite upsetting, it seems that the only time people want to give you any feedback is when it's negative. People are always so quick to put people down and tell them where they are going wrong, but never to tell them where they are going right... At this point I would like to thank all the people who have givien me positive feedback, you are the one's who make it all worthwhile, thankyou! :-)
I guess now I am going to have an influx of comments telling me all the ways in which I have come across as a hypocrite during this blog... Oh well, like I said: You can't please everyone!
