BALLOONS will be released at a Kidderminster park next week in memory of Baby P.

People are invited to bring their own balloons to Brinton Park on Wednesday where they will be released at 12.10pm.

The event is being organised by Kate Carey, of Kidderminster, who wanted to do something locally to remember the 17-month-old, of Haringey, London, who died last year after suffering sustained abuse.

Mrs Carey, 30, of Kinver Avenue said: “I’m a mother myself and having my young daughter, Darcie, really brought it home to me.

“I felt like I needed to do something. I think there are a lot of people who feel the same.”
