I was hoping by the time this blog was wrote Tony McCoy had ridden an amazing 3000 winners but due to bad weather during the week hes stuck on 2998 but I'm sure in the next few days he will reach this amazing milestone.
Love horse racing or not what McCoy has done has to be up there with the greatest sports men and women this country has ever seen winning the jockeys title for an amazing 13 times in a row and still counting breaking all records along the way.
So what do we know about this amazing horseman ?
He rode his 1st ever winner back in 1992 over in Ireland and since coming over to England has dominated the jumps title from winning the conditional jockeys title back in 94/95 and after that has never been beaten winning every title from then up until now.
He rode an amazing 289 winners during 2002 which shattered Sir Gordon Richards record from way back and I'm sure his next target will be to try and reach the 300 mark.
He was also the fastest jockey to ever reach 1000 winners and has passed Richard Dunwoody`s record of riding the most jumps winners ever earning him an M.B.E along the way.
Although McCoy has smashed every record going he has yet to win the grand national the only big race left for him to win having already won the gold cup, champion hurdle and Queen Mother chase all at Cheltenham and also the Irish grand national along with the King George v1 at kempton on champion chaser best mate.
McCoy is a true sporting great and I'm sure its going to take someone a very long time to beat what records he has set along the way and come march I'm hoping to come away from Cheltenham with a few quid in my pocket thanks to A.P.mcCOY a true racing legend.
