SOMETIMES, no matter how hard a club tries, there's nothing anyone can do if the weather intervenes to stop a sporting event.
Harriers' game at Woking was a case in point, when the match kicked-off the rain was persistent but the pitch was perfectly playable.
However, by the 64th minute, when the referee called it off, the playing surface had became unpredictable and treacherous, a worrying combination for any manager.
It does meant that Harriers' fans will have to make 250 mile round trip to Surrey once again to watch this game, which will be a considerable drain on their finances.
Harriers' have a great hardcore of travelling fans who are committed to watching their side come hell or high water but their team's run of away games matches is so hectic and numerous that a return trip to the Kingfield may be one match too far.
Still, fans must be looking to a very exciting end to the season, where if Harriers can get on a roll they can break back into the Blue Square Premier's top five.
The manner of the victory over Eastbourne was pretty impressive and the addition of Chris McPhee has certainly sent out a message that they mean business this season.
Harriers have got themselves into a great position but fans don't remember half a good season. This is a chance for Mark Yates and his troops to write themselves into the club's history books in the most dramatic fashion.
