I'm sitting here preparing myself for what looks like another season in the championship next season thinking why did we(West Brom) not spend more money and give ourselves a chance of staying up then looked at the bottom of the championship and the 4 clubs down there are ex premiership clubs fighting for their lives to avoid a drop to the 3rd tier of English football and it got me thinking at what cost is promotion to play the best English football has to offer ?
Yes at the time its all good for the club and their supporters but long term is it best to throw money at it and risk all ?
Maybe its best to spend a little and take the money and run to give the club a better chance long term, I'm sure some will disagree with that but try telling that now to the likes of Charlton,Southampton and Norwich City who are struggling to make ends meet.
Yes I'm gutted to see my lot going back down yet again but in the long run we have not gone over the top spending millions and have got a chance yet again to return which has to be top priority.
At least Ive got a weekend in Blackpool to look forward to next season.
