Sat up in the early hours of this morning waiting for what was being talked of the best "pound for pound" fight ever it was some what the opposite as Ricky Hatton was completely outclassed by his opponent Manny Pacquaio in just 2 rounds in Las Vagas.
Talks are now ongoing for "The Hitman" to retire but as a huge fan i just hope he takes his time to make up his own mind as i feel it will be a shame to go out of boxing in this way.
Yes it was a disaster but after coming all this way and with so many loyal fans following him all over the world it would be nice to see him go out in style maybe one more fight back at home like Wembley stadium as i'm sure fans would yet again flock to see him and maybe then if he was to win at least go out in style with his fans around him.
Hatton is much loved for his exciting approach to boxing and his down to earth nature with the public who have always warmed to him and I'm sure deep down he will not want to end the relationship this way with them.
I'm just hoping that when the dust settles Hatton can somehow motivate himself to fight on maybe for just one more time and give fans what they want back here in England.
For me Hatton is the first boxer in this country who has won the public's hearts since Frank Bruno retired these type of boxers do not come around that often but what ever happens Ricky you have given us fans plenty to shout about over the years but please go out in style as a winner.
