A KIDDERMINSTER man has high hopes that he can help to launch a unique super-fast system of tracking down missing people created by his father-in-law.

Bob Farley is convinced that SAMI will revolutionise the search for missing or wanted people and has entered the idea into our Business Idol competition with its £1,000 prize.

“My father-in-law, Sam Robery, has developed SAMI (Seeking Abducted Missing Individuals) over a number of years,” he said, “and I am happy to help him to market it.

“We have tried to spread the message to interested parties but lack resources. We are not a giant conglomerate, just a father and son working from home.

“We are now at the stage of looking for partners to assist us with its launch.”

Bob says the computer programme can be installed at low cost and allows alerts of missing or wanted persons to be spread throughout the nation within minutes. He and Sam are keen to get organisations interested like the Post Office, Police, railway stations and sea ports.

Bob is Kidderminster born and bred, was away for 30 years, and has now returned and runs a minibus in the town.

Go-ahead people who have started up their own businesses in the Wyre Forest area have one last chance to make a move that could give them just the boost they are looking for.

Entries for the Business Idol competition being run by the Kidderminster-based Big Breakfast Club in association with The Shuttle are still being accepted until Monday.

All you have to do to stand a chance of winning the £1,000 prize and over £2,500 worth of business advice is to describe in not more than 250 words why you think your business has the potential for significant growth.

Then e-mail it to Business Idol at p.ricketts@blueyonder.co.uk or post or deliver it to 351 Hurcott Road, Kidderminster, by noon on Monday.

Business Idol is also being run in the Stourbridge News and on May 21 both papers will publish a full list of all the entries and in subsequent weeks the owners of the businesses involved will be invited to attend a Breakfast Club meeting to chat about their enterprise.

Club members are a group of local business people who meet at 7am every Tuesday at La Brasserie in Lower Mill Street, Kidderminster to swap ideas and contacts.

The judges will eventually select four finalists who will attend a gala evening on July 8 when the winner will be decided.
