THIS year’s BBC Summer Good Food Show will take place at The NEC from June 10 to 14 and will be offering visitors a great value package to set them up for a sizzling summer of fabulous family meals and light and delicious seasonal dinner party menus. The show will offer the perfect combination of inspiration from celebrity chefs ready to lift your cooking to a new level, as well as practical advice for mastering some of the trickier kitchen challenges.
James Martin, Ainsley Harriott, The Hairy Bikers, Simon Rimmer and Angela Hartnett will be among the top chefs taking to the stage in the Summer Kitchen sponsored by Sainsbury’s ready to share their ideas and enthusiasm for light and luscious summer menus.
In the Miele Cookery Experience a number of lucky visitors will have the chance to learn from the experts by taking part in live cookery workshops in front of an audience.
Celebrities including the Hairy Bikers, Angela Hartnett, Gino D’Acampo and Rachel Allen as well as the BBC Good Food magazine team will be leading sessions teaching people some of the basic cooking skills ranging from filleting a fish to making perfect profiteroles. A visit to the Picnic Must Haves section will equip you with all the latest ideas and tastiest morsels to help you create a fantastic picnic, whatever the occasion and The Producers’ Village will bring together some of the country’s very best artisan producers and their great tasting produce.
From succulent and tender meat, hot sauces and cool chutneys to sinful and seductive chocolate, this will be the place to taste, enjoy and buy truly great home produced food. Suggestions for long, cool drinks for hot summer days and the perfect wines to chill and enjoy will be on hand in Drinks, the Fine Wine and Spirits Area, but if you prefer a cold beer on a summer’s evening, look no further than Beers of the World Live which will run from Friday through to Sunday.
Hourly masterclasses and a live stage with demonstrations will show you what to look for when sampling some of the country’s finest beers.
Not only will visitors be able to enjoy a day out at the BBC Summer Good Food Show for the same price as last year, they will also be able to enjoy free entry to BBC Gardeners’ World Live, which runs alongside.
With a dedicated Grow Your Own area, over 25 beautiful show gardens and a whole host of other features, there will be plenty to interest food lovers and tips to create the perfect backdrop for barbecues, family celebrations and summer dinner parties will abound. As an added bonus, each visitor will also receive a free Show Guide, worth £10, packed with delicious seasonal recipes from our celebrity chefs.
The BBC Summer Good Food Show will take place alongside BBC Gardeners’ World Live at The NEC and one ticket will gain entry to both shows. Family weekend welcomes two children from five to 16 free for each accompanying paying adult on Saturday and Sunday. Under fives are free on any day.
Beers of the World Live takes place from June 12 to 14 and entrance is included in your BBC Summer Good Food Show ticket. Tickets are on sale now so book early for your day of summer inspiration!
