A huge crowd enjoyed a sunshine-filled day as 2,000 lots went under the hammer at auctioneers Halls' monthly collective sale of machinery at Stone, near Kidderminster on May 29.
A strong trade for farm machinery saw prices of £4,200 for an International 785 tractor with Quickie loader, £2,500 for a David Brown 1190 tractor, £1,180 for a Massey Ferguson 40 industrial tractor and £1,300 for a John Deere Outfront rotary mower.
Hay making equipment met with strong demand given the time of year, with £2,500 for a Welger AP63 conventional baler, £2,300 for a New Holland 370 baler, £1,600 for an SIP hay rake and £300 for a Cook Flat 8 sledge.
A range of Ifor Williams and Indispension general purpose/plant trailers sold from £500 to £1,300.
General purpose equipment included a Ken Wooton 12T Trailer at £3,100, a Bomford hedgecutter at £1,220, a Port Agric trailed topper c/w engine at £700, a pair of Stocks dual wheels at £500, a Star pasture topper at £440 and a Quickie 3030 loader at £390.
Vehicles on offer included a P registration Range Rover at £2,300, a Ford Ranger Crew Cab pickup at £1,800, a 1985 Land Rover 90 at £1,600 and an Iveco Cargo flat bed lorry at £900.
Ride on and pedestrian lawnmowers again found strong demand, with Westwood, Countax, Murray, Yardman and MTD all on offer. A Westwood lawnmower sold to a top of £820, whilst chainsaws, strimmers, hedge trimmers and leaf blowers all found good homes.
More unusual items included a Thai style wooden gazebo, which made £320 and a 10,000-litre water tank at £320. Timber, building materials, slabs and fencing materials complemented the machinery and implements.
