THE Stoneleigh Park Country Festival returns for some August Bank Holiday weekend fun from Saturday 29th to Monday 31st August at Stoneleigh Park and will be jam packed with great features and celebrity guests to entertain the entire family.
Divided into interactive areas, the show has a Food Fair, the Imagineering zone, a petting zoo, a country life area and retail village as well as stunning entertainment in the main showground arena.
The Main Arena plays host to our celebrity guests which include TV chefs Paul Rankin and Lesley Waters and some of your favourite soap stars which will be announced shortly.
Also entertaining the crowds will be the world’s most famous Monster Truck ‘Bigfoot’, the Flying Gunners Motorcycle Display Team, processions of Classic Vehicles and machinery, a fly by from the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight and so much more. DJs from Mercia FM will be overseeing the proceedings throughout the weekend and co-presenting the main arena.
The Food Fair, sponsored by Warwickshire Life and supported by Rangemaster, will feature live cookery demonstrations and expert advice from our celebrity chefs Paul Rankin and Lesley Waters. Both are well known for their regular television appearances on Ready Steady Cook, Saturday Kitchen, etc. Paul will appear on Sunday while Lesley attends on Monday.
On Saturday Rachel Green, a champion of British produce who has appeared on TV programmes such as ITV Yorkshire’s Flying Cook, World on a Plate, BBC3’s Kill It Cook It! Eat! and Farm of Fussy Eaters on UK TV Style, will appear.
Also appearing will be French chef Franck Pontias who has prepared food for film premieres and stars such as Elton John and Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber. There will also be stall holders showcasing local produce and offering tasting sessions of scrumptious food and drink.
Also at the show Dog Agility, supported by Nottinghamshire based Alpha Feeds Ltd, will present the Grand Finals of the Alpha Agility Challenge competition for large dogs Grades 1 – 3 which will also be an official qualifier for Crufts. There will also be an opportunity for day visitors to take test their own dog’s abilities on the day by putting them through their paces on a specially designed course.
As well as classic car processions, the show will have a display of over 1,000 classic cars from various clubs from around the region. From Austin to Lotus, you can see them all in our Pageant this year which will also see us celebrating 50 years of the Mini with the Central Mini Club.
Imagineering returns with more exciting fun interactive activities for 8-16 year olds provided by some of the UK’s major engineering organisations such as National Grid, Jaguar and Land Rover. Packed with free stimulating hands-on activities to keep children happily occupied for hours, the action takes place under one roof with something for every taste from cars, rockets and robotics to IT, speed records and mechanical challenges.
Youngsters can meet the engineers who keep the country going and take part in exciting challenges on the green environment and renewable energy where they can learn how to make a real impact and reduce their carbon footprint.
The Country Life area will feature displays such as Sheep Shows and Birds of Prey demonstrations. The Hatton Farm Petting area will have a variety of farm animals such as donkeys, rabbits and geese as well as a new pet accessories exhibition. There will also be Dressage and Show jumping displays from Equestrian clubs, a Model Show, Craft and Art exhibitions, a massive shopping village and much more.
And if that’s not enough, you can make a weekend of it by pitching up your caravan or tent for the weekend and enjoying the evening entertainment and fun fair.
The Stoneleigh Park Country Festival is open from 9am on Saturday 29th to Monday 31st August 2009. Day tickets are available £12 for adults in advance and £15 on the day, and £10 in advance and £12 on the day for senior citizens. Children’s tickets are £6 in advance or £7 on the day. Family tickets (two adults and two children) are £32 in advance and £39 on the day whilst Camping starts from £50.
