Harriers new manager will have to make a running start in the transfer market to ensure that they can keep up the pace in the Blue Square Premier.

A small squad needs a couple of new faces to add some much-needed depth, particularly after the departure of loan players Ryan Charles and Danny Andrew.

A good knowledge of the Football Conference and Leagues One and Two could be key, because there won't be much time for the manager to bring players in once firmly in the hot-seat.

With wheeling and dealing a prerequisite at Harriers because of limited funds, the new boss has options to bring in players on loan or plunder clubs in crisis.

Chester definitely fall into the latter category and perhaps experienced hitman Nick Chadwick could be a viable target, particularly if Jim Harvey takes the reins at Aggborough.

His arrival would certaintly pep up Harriers' strikeforce, although former Forest Green striker Andy Mangan, who will be available after his five-month ban for betting on matches, would be an eye-catching addition to the squad. However, he's been vigorously sought by Wrexham as well.

Experienced mdfielder Dean Keates has been released by Peterborough but what Harriers really need is a wideman to give them an extra attacking option. Cash-strapped Histon's Nathaniel Knight-Percival would be an interesting addition to the playing staff but they Cambridgeshire side will be unwilling to let him go.

Defender Craig Pope, who was released by the Stutes, could be an experienced head to add some cover to Harriers' backline as the likes of Tom Sharpe and Zac Costello are very inexperienced.

These are all simply suggestions, who do you think Harriers should go for in January?
