NEARLY 300 brides, more than 40 grooms and their families and friends attended the most successful I Will wedding fair to date on Sunday.
Stone Manor Hotel, near Kidderminster, was packed for most of the day as visitors made the most of the winter sunshine to browse nearly 60 stands offering a wide range of products and services, including cars, cakes, invitations, dresses and menswear.
Carol Hinett, editor of I Will magazine, was delighted by the turnout.
She said: “Some 272 brides and 48 grooms entered our prize draw to win £1,000 towards a wedding dress from our sponsors, The Dressing Room at Halesowen.
“The number of brides attending rises every year but this event exceeded all our expectations. We look forward to seeing more brides at the next fair with catwalk show at Hilton Bromsgrove on Sunday between 11am and 3.30pm.”
Exhibitor Derek Wilbraham of Enlightened Images said: “This was by far the best fair I have attended.
“We talked to more than 50 brides and expect great feedback and results. We did not stop all day.”
The I Will wedding fairs – run by the people behind local newspapers such as The Shuttle, Bromsgrove Advertiser, Redditch Advertiser, Stourbridge News, Halesowen News and Dudley News – bring together an array of services under one roof.
This means couples and their families and friends can spend a relaxed and enjoyable day collecting ideas and contacts to help create the perfect wedding.
