A SERIES of concerts begins with two free shows at Great Witley Church over Easter.
Tomorrow, John Stainer’s The Crucifixion will be performed at 5pm by an all amateur, voluntary choir brought together on the day from local choirs and keen singers.
Katie Watkinson, series secretary, said: “After a day of intensive practise and hard work the piece will be ready to present to the audience - a fantastic achievement.”
On Easter Sunday at 5pm an Easter celebration will be held with Sarah Westwood (soprano) and Paul Mocroft (baritone), accompanied by John Jenkin.
The Mozart Exultate Jubilate and Five Mystical Songs by R. Vaughan Williams will be performed.
