THE revamp of the Millbrook Suite is set to be completed by the end of April.
The appeal, run by The Shuttle and Kidderminster Hospital League of Friends, reached its £150,000 target over New Year.
More than £192,000 has now been raised in total, with generous donations still flooding in every week.
Thanks to the efforts of Shuttle readers, the refurbishment will enable the Kidderminster Hospital unit to look after cancer patients in more comfortable and modern surroundings.
Although the refurbishment has been paid for, the extra cash will be used for the running of the unit and to buy more equipment.
David Wase, League chairman, said: “It is absolutely amazing. People are still organising events - reaching £150,000 doesn’t seem to have put anybody off.”
A larger waiting area and two new consulting rooms will mean more people can be treated at the Millbrook, which already gets more than 5,000 patients through its doors every year.
The treatment area is also being extended, so some patients can be seen in bays with a curtain screen, to give them more privacy.
In the old unit, some patients had to sit and receive treatment in the waiting area alongside members of other people’s families.
