KIDDERMINSTER Arts Festival is back this summer and preparations are well under way for KAF, as it has become known.
The festival, which is taking place in and around Kidderminster town centre, is organised by Wyre Forest District Council and runs from August 14-28.
This year’s programme is the largest yet, with outdoor shows from nationally renowned artists and local organisations and artists all taking part.
Bernard’s Puppet Bonanza is one of the acts which will be featuring. The production company which makes the show is based in Bristol and has worked internationally for many years.
It produces a number of shows, using masks, puppetry and clever props to present a slightly quirky and often humorous take on the world.
Bernard will be bringing his puppet theatre to the streets of Kidderminster on Saturday, August 14. It is a family show with a slightly dark edge to it and appeals to children and adults alike. During the act, Bernard battles to make the show go on, despite a series of embarrassing but very funny disasters. Anyone can see Bernard in action for free, so don’t let him give up, go and give him a cheer.
Loz Samuels, the district council’s Arts Development Officer said: “KAF is now in its seventh year and with the good reputation the festival is gaining we’ve been able to attract a fantastic line-up.
“It is varied and has something for all ages, like Bernard’s Puppet Bonanza which has been created by Pickled Image Theatre Company. They produce high quality accessible shows and we are proud to present them at KAF10.
“That’s a free event – in fact many of the events will be free or less than £5.”
