AS part of the festival a unique piece of work entitled ‘The Waiting Room’ will be unveiled.

It has been created by Kidderminster artist Sarah Tamar, who was awarded funding from the council’s Xpression grants scheme and KAF after she participated in a Dragon’s Den-style presentation. Sarah has worked as a social worker and arts therapist using visual arts, poetry and prose to examine a range of issues for many years.

The ‘Waiting Room’ examines the themes of waiting. She has worked with a number of local groups and people to explore their feelings on life changing events which they have or are still waiting for.

Sound artist Natasha Roberts has worked with Sarah to create a soundscape which you will be able to listen to on MP3 players in an intimate space created specially for the project.

‘The Waiting Room’ will be shown daily throughout KAF in the Swan Centre.

Sarah said: “I am really excited to have the opportunity to develop ‘The Waiting Room’ installation and I’m thoroughly enjoying the writing workshops and often introducing people to new writing talent.

“Waiting is a potent human experience. Some of the writing already produced is very moving and memorable.”
