MOURNERS at the funeral of a much-loved woman raised nearly £300 for charity.
Valerie Hyde died of brain cancer after being treated at the Millbrook Suite in Kidderminster Hospital for three years.
Friends and family were encouraged to make donations instead of buying flowers.
The £290 total has been split equally between the Millbrook and Macmillan Cancer Support.
In January Mrs Hyde organised a party to thank friends for supporting her battle with cancer, bringing in £550 for The Shuttle’s Millbrook Appeal.
