MANY of you may be aware that there have been some changes in classification of drugs recently.
One of those affected is something called NRG1 or ‘energy’. This drug was one of a group called ‘legal highs’ but has now become a Class B drug making it illegal to use.
As with all illegal drugs, anyone caught in possession of it will be arrested and prosecuted.
We have been working particularly hard recently to tackle drug crime and our Local Policing Teams have executed a number of warrants resulting in drug seizures and arrests. We have also been able to recover some stolen property.
We often rely on information from the public to help us find out about drug use and we have been fortunate to receive some through our PACT (Partners and Communities Together) meetings. These are an opportunity for you to discuss any concerns you may have in the area you live or work and for us to provide feedback on ways we can help in the community.
The meetings are held regularly across the district and are often publicised in the paper, so it’s a good idea to keep an eye out for the next one in your area.
Across Wyre Forest in August are meetings in Areley Kings at the Tenants Hall in Linden Avenue on Monday, August 2, at 7pm; Sutton Park at Greatfield Road Evangelical Church on Wednesday, August 4, at 7pm; Mitton and Lickhill at the Lickhill Community Centre on Monday, August 9, at 7pm; and Habberley and Blakebrook at St Pius Church on Tuesday, August 17, at 6.30 pm.
To find out more about PACT and how to get involved please speak to your Local Policing Team, call us on 0300 333 3000, or click on the Local Policing link at westmercia.police.uk.
