ALTHOUGH torrential rain has been a feature of the KAF 10, the artists and performers have still managed to bring a varied and exciting programme of arts and events to town and everyone has their fingers crossed for better weather next week!

The changeable weather has had an impact on the programme, so the KAF team ask that you check the timings of events.

Last Thursday Hoodwink Theatre’s A Leap of Faith held off the rain for 40 minutes, much to the delight of a large audience. The Graffiti Wall came to town on Friday and was full of graffiti enthusiasts all day long.

See the images on the Shuttle’s KAF webpage or at wyreforestdc.gov.uk or the KAF facebook site.

Fortunately, the wall was under cover and Radio Wyvern came along to cheer things up and give away goodie bags to those who braved the rain. Dom Dunlea battled with the elements and took shelter in the entrance to the Town Hall car park where he created an amazing memorial to Johnny the Cobbler. Go and see it as soon as you can, as the image is created using non-permanent paint so will slowly wear away as time passes.

It’s a great taste of what is to come next weekend for Subway Deluxe and the walls are being prepared now in readiness. Allia Kahn bought a spectacular Bollywood dance show with Dhol drummers and amazing costumes and music. If you missed the event but want to find out more about lessons visit Allia’s website stepupdanceacademy.co.uk.

Grande Theatre of Lemmings battled through the crowds at the continental market on their camel, looking for a desert. They later presented their Morris Dancing show outside Clarks in Weavers Wharf and delighted crowds with their antics.

A growing number of dedicated buskers have taken a chance on the weather and come to town to show off their talents. The KAF team send a big thank you to them as they really add something to market days. They will be in town again next week so please support them if you can.

There is still plenty to look forward to as the festival reaches its conclusion this week.

A range of workshops will be adding something really different to the programme.

Outdoor performance will be the highlight on Thursday and Saturday with high-speed grannies on shopping trolleys bringing chaos to the market and Skate Naked bringing their unique brand of humour to our streets.

Skate Naked are not for the faint-hearted so don’t go along if you are easily offended!

They drew big crowds last year and all left with huge smiles on their faces, so if you have a spare half-an-hour when you are in town, they are a must-see.

For more information you can download the KAF brochure from wyreforestdc.gov.uk, or on the festival facebook page KAF10 or pick one up at the library, the Hub or Town Hall on Vicar Street. Bookings for workshops are available online at wyreforestdc.gov.uk
