Our Club is one of 3,000 worldwide as members of the world's largest women's service organisation with direct access to the United Nations.
We work through service projects and fundraising to help women and girls.
Locally we support Birchen Coppice School, Nightstop and Asha Wyre Forest.
With other clubs in the Midlands Region, we have been fundraising over the past 3 years for Fresh Start Uganda. This project, working with the Farmers' Overseas Action Group in Uganda, aims to build accommodation for 16-18 girls and young women at an addiction rehabilitation centre near Kampala.
Our international focus has been on helping families in Zimbabwe and supporting Project Sierra where working with Hope and Homes for Children, we are transforming the lives of deprived women and children in Sierra Leone and promoting stability in the post-conflict society.
We offer fellowship and friendship with our social and fundraising events - this year we have painted pots with The Melting Pot in Bewdley, joined a sponsored walk around Wolverley, manned a stall at the Hartlebury Car Boot Sale, enjoyed a summer's Picnic Buffet, been entertained at an Indian Garden party and visited Astley Towne House and Gardens.
To commemorate the United Nations International Day of Peace on 21 September, members visited the National Arboretum.
We welcome guests and new members to our speaker meetings on the 3rd Thursday of each month (except August) at La Brasserie Restaurant in Kidderminster.
Our Club Officers for 2010/2011 are President: Mrs Janet Ince; Honorary Secretary: Mrs Denise Carson; Honorary Treasurer: Ms Jayne Hill and Membership Officer: Mrs Elke Jury.
