PUBLIC meetings dates and venues have been announced for Wyre Forest residents to have their say on controversial plans for gypsy and traveller sites.
Wyre Forest District Council has arranged a series of opportunities for communities to have their say on the seven sites put forward in the consultation, which runs until November 18.
The consultation has been arranged to consider the provision for 28 gypsy/traveller pitches up to 2017 and a further 15 up to 2022, as well as one pitch for travelling show people.
The meetings will take place on:
•Thursday, October 20, at 6.30 pm, at Bewdley High School, regarding the Stourport Road site.
•Wednesday, October 26, at 7pm, at Cookley Village Hall, regarding the Lea Castle Hospital site.
•Monday, October 31, at 7pm, at Wolverley Memorial Hall, regarding the former Sion Hill School site.
•Wednesday, November 2, 6.30pm, at Stourport Civic Hall, regarding sites at Manor Farm, The Gables Yard, Saiwen and land next to Nunn’s Corner.
Conservative councillor Julian Phillips, the district council’s cabinet member for place shaping, said: “It is important that local communities let us know their thoughts on the sites that have been included in the consultation and in order to help them do that the district council has arranged a series of public meetings covering the location of each of the proposed sites. I look forward to seeing people at those meetings.”
Anyone who wants to speak at any of the meetings and have their verbal comments fed into the consultation should contact the district council in advance or on the night by calling 01562 732928 or email LDF.Consultation@wyreforestdc.gov.uk for further information.
