RACHEL Bragg's Olympic experience has finished after defeat to Japan today.
The Kidderminster volleyball player's time at London 2012 came to an end after Team GB went down 3-0 at Earls Court with their fourth defeat in five games.
They lost to Japan 25-19, 25-15, 25-12, with Janine Sandell going off with a right leg injury in the second set.
Captain Lynn Beattie said: "We competed with them at times but it just wasn't enough.
"But we take lots of positives from that match."
She added: "The main thing we can take is competing against the best teams in the world. That's an experience in itself.
"We've shown at times that we can compete with them and the next step is taking sets and wins against these teams."
The team experienced a high on Tuesday after winning their first ever Olympic match when they saw off Algeria last week.
But defeats to Russia, Italy, Dominican Republic and Japan have made sure GB did not progress through the pool stage.
Previously, swimmer Amy Smith had missed out on a place in GB's 4x100m medley relay final quartet yesterday.
Smith had anchored the home foursome in the semi-finals but Fran Halsall, who came fifth in the 100m freestyle final, was chosen ahead of the Wyre Forest swimmer.
GB came eighth as the USA won with a world record.
