SHOPS and businesses in Bewdley are being invited to join in the Bewdley Festival celebrations to boost trade.
They are being asked to consider the opportunities that will arise during the nine-day music and art event next month.
Carole Swingler, the festival’s publicity officer, said: “With so many people about during the festival - October 5 -14 - and the subsequent Book Week - October 15 - 20 - there will be opportunities for local businesses to boost their trade.
“We are suggesting that festival-goers be encouraged to linger for longer in the town. Festival related offers and discounts could encourage daytime event ticket-holders to support local businesses before heading home."
Businesses in the town will receive a leaflet inviting them to create special offers best suited to their business and free celebratory “Bewdley Festival 25” window stickers.
They will also be invited to join in a window dressing competition themed on silver to brighten up the town during the event.
