A FORMER Stourport High School student has become the third brother in his family to earn the coveted green beret and become a Royal Marines Commado.
Twenty-year-old Josh Strange, of Stourport, has completed 32 weeks of military training and has joined 43 Commando Royal Marines, based in Scotland.
He passed out at a ceremony at the Commando Training Centre Royal Marines in Devon with 138 troops.
The green beret indicates that the wearer has undergone gruelling and physically demanding tests of endurance while displaying the qualities of unselfishness, cheerfulness under adversity, courage, determination and high professional standards.
The Royal Marines form 3 Commando Brigade, which is a core component of the United Kingdom’s joint rapid reaction force.
Josh said: “Anything is achievable if you are mentally strong”.
